An Taisce Spring Clean Campaign, Esmonde Gardens, Gorey

(28 Apr 2010)

Thanks to the hard work of Divinia Kerwick, Clúid Housing Officer, we held a successful event in Esmonde Gardens, Gorey on 28th April to launch our garden competition and link with An Taisce Spring Clean Campaign.

The event included a spring clean assisted by the community wardens from Wexford County Council and Kevin Burke our Repairs Operative, followed by Giggles the Clown who also presented every child with a sunflower seed in a pot for the largest Sunflower competition. For the adults we held a draw to win five planted window boxes prepared by St Aidens Garden Centre who provide services for intellectually disabled people in North Wexford and also have a group home on the estate. St Aidens also had a number of plants for sale to assist the residents get started with their gardening.

The Mayor of Gorey, Cllr Colin Webb, made the draw and invited Cluid to join the Town Council’s Town Estates Competition and prize giving ceremony later in the year.
