The conference will focus on addressing the health impacts of Fuel Poverty on the fuel poor and elderly. The Better Energy Homes scheme provides grant assistance to homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient, but households suffering from fuel poverty do not have the funds needed to avail of this scheme.

SEAI commissioned Energy Action to complete a Pilot Evaluation of External Wall Insulation systems. The findings of this evaluation will be presented at the conference.

The objective of this Conference is to provide a forum for sharing key information and experience to help in development of solutions to fuel poverty in Ireland

The conference will facilitate dialogue between policy makers, regulators, local authorities, politicians, health experts, social researchers, building companies, energy companies, and the various agencies supporting vulnerable households in Ireland North, South, the UK and Europe.
