Housing for People with a Disability

Clúid builds and manages housing for people with disabilities. A number of accessible and adapted homes are included as part of many of Clúid’s general needs schemes. Allocations to these properties are made through the local authority, often with input from support agencies such as the Irish Wheelchair Association. Clúid works in partnership with Cheshire Homes, the Irish Wheelchair Association and similar organisations to identify and deliver long term housing solutions for people with a disability.

Clúid is also working in partnership with the HSE and St Aidan’s Services to deliver housing for people with disabilities including learning disabilities and also for people with mental health issues. Clúid develops purpose built properties and offers varying degrees of housing and tenancy management services to the partner agencies. The arrangements for housing management and for care and support vary depending on the needs of the tenants and the set up of the project, e.g. whether it is a group home or independent living. Referrals are made through the HSE or local support agency.
