Governance

Robust and transparent governance within the voluntary and non-profit sector is essential to build and maintain public credibility and trust.

At the 2013 Irish Council for Social Housing Community Housing Awards, Clúid’s Board received the Governing Board Award which recognises their commitment to good governance, accountability, planning and decision making.

Clúid completed the initial adoption phase of the “Governance Code for community, voluntary and charitable organisations in Ireland” in April 2013. The purpose of the Governance Code (www.governancecode.ie) is to promote high standards of governance and transparency within the voluntary and charitable sector. In compliance with the Governance Code, Clúid is proud to confirm the following:-

“We comply with the Governance Code for community, voluntary and charitable organisations in Ireland. We confirm that a review of our organisation’s compliance with the principles of the Code was conducted on 25th March 2014. This review was based on an assessment of our organisational practice against the recommended actions for each principle. The review sets out actions and completion dates for any issues that the assessment identifies as needing to be addressed.”

See Clúid’s Annual Report for more on our adoption of the governance code.
