Paul Dobey

Paul is a chartered accountant and seasoned business leader with a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years at KPMG. Throughout his tenure, he acted as lead audit partner for Ireland’s largest listed banks, insurance companies, and aircraft leasing entities. Within KPMG Ireland, Paul held several leadership positions, including Head of Financial Services, Head of Risk, and served on the firms Board and its Public Interest Committee. His expertise extended to KPMG’s global operations, where he contributed to the Global Risk Management Steering Group and the Regional Management team as Head of Risk for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In these roles, he was responsible for risk and quality transformation across the region. After retiring from KPMG, Paul assumed a full-time role as Interim Chief Risk Officer and Board Risk Advisor at Novobanco in Portugal, supporting the CEO during the bank’s preparations for a merger, acquisition, or IPO transaction.
