Residents begin getting the keys to 30 new social homes in Magee Quarter, Kildare Town

6 Jul, 2026

Clúid, Ireland’s leading Approved Housing Body, has begun giving keys to the 30 individuals and families who will be moving into the newly built apartments and duplexes in Magee Quarter in Kildare Town.

The one- and two-bed apartments and the three-bed duplexes in the new mixed-tenure development of Magee Quarter will provide secure, affordable, long-term homes to 30 households from Kildare County Council’s housing list. The homes are A-rated so they will be economical to run, as well as providing high levels of comfort to the residents.

The homes were delivered by Clúid in partnership with Kildare County Council, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency, Housing Agency and Formation Homes.

Averil Power, Chief Executive Officer, Clúid, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome the new residents to Magee Quarter, Kildare Town. This latest scheme brings to 1,004 the number of Clúid homes in Kildare. Like all Clúid residents, the individuals and families who are beginning to move into the homes in Magee Quarter will benefit from Clúid’s maintenance, tenant support and community engagement services. We look forward to helping them put down roots and build their futures in a thriving new neighbourhood.”

The homes were developed by Formation Homes. Located in the heart of Kildare Town, Magee Quarter benefits from a highly central position with easy access to a wide range of services, amenities, and an extensive transport network, making it an ideal place for people to call home.

In partnership with Kildare County Council, Clúid is on track to deliver a further 147 homes in the county this year. As part of their own construction programme, Clúid will also be delivering at least 70 new-build homes in Kildare in the next two to three years.
