Building stronger communities through partnership

As part of Thriving City for All Week, the Belmayne Community Group hosted a community coffee morning bringing together residents, elected representatives and local stakeholders to highlight the importance of working together to create thriving, connected communities.
The event celebrated what can be achieved when residents, community organisations, housing providers, local authorities and elected representatives collaborate to address local needs and improve community life.
Recent successes in the area demonstrates the impact of this partnership approach. The opening of the new YMCA Community Hub was made possible through the collective efforts of residents, Clúid, Cairn Homes, YMCA Dublin, elected representatives and other stakeholders working together to create a valuable community resource. Additionally, the installation of a new local playground reflects the power of community advocacy and collaboration in delivering amenities that benefit local families.
A key focus of the event was the importance of community participation. Meaningful change does not happen in isolation, it happens when people get involved, share their experiences and work collectively to identify solutions and secure the resources their communities need.
The coffee morning also provided an opportunity for residents to engage directly with elected representatives, helping to strengthen relationships, encourage participation and ensure local voices are heard. In growing communities, particularly those with large apartment populations where traditional engagement can be more challenging, creating accessible opportunities for dialogue is more important than ever.
At Clúid, we recognise the value of strong partnerships and resident engagement in building sustainable communities where people feel connected, supported and empowered. Events like this demonstrate how collaboration can turn ideas into action and create positive outcomes for local residents.
Together, we can create places where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and everyone has a great place to live.
