Clúid launches the new Design Guide 2025 to 2030

Clúid is pleased to launch the latest edition of the Design Guide, the first of its kind in the industry when originally published in 2021. The new guide sets out the design standards for all new Clúid developments.

Dean Murphy, Senior Project Manager – Design & Placemaking at Clúid, commented, “The new Design Guide focuses on creating attractive, sustainable communities with a strong sense of place. It aims to ensure Clúid homes are comfortable, secure, easy to use, and maintain. The guide is the result of extensive consultation with residents, staff, and stakeholders like the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.”

Key areas of focus for this edition of the Clúid Design Guide include:

• Placemaking and creating thriving communities: The guide emphasises the importance of creating a sense of place and attractive communities within residential developments.
• Sustainability: It promotes sustainable building practices and aims to develop housing that enhances the lives of residents and integrates well with the wider community. Incorporating Clúid’s Landscaping and Biodiversity Guide supports the integration of nature into developments, promoting biodiversity and sustainability.
• Universal Design: The guide incorporates principles of Universal Design to ensure homes are adaptable to the changing needs of residents as they age.
• Affordability: While focusing on design, the guide also emphasises the importance of providing affordable housing options for residents.
• Resident Involvement: The Design Guide is developed in consultation with Clúid’s resident advisory groups, ensuring that the needs and preferences of residents are taken into account.
