How to be Scam Aware
19th Aug, 2025
In light of recent reported phone scams, Clúid wishes to assure residents that we will only contact you from the number 01 7072088. If you are unsure if a call is genuine, hang up and contact us directly.
The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has established a registry for organisations who send text messages and Clúid’s number is registered with them. Business senders that have not registered will appear as “Likely Scam” to alert the consumer that it may not be legitimate. From 3 October, messages from unregistered business senders will be blocked.
The Citizens Information website has lots of useful information on scams including:
- What is a scam?
- Common types of scams
- Recognising scams
- Protect yourself
- If you have been scammed
- Getting your money back
You can visit the relevant webpage here: citizensinformation.ie/en/consumer/buying-digital-content-and-services/scams-and-fraud/
There are new scams appearing regularly. You can keep up to date using government agency warnings, such as those on the Garda website and the Department of Social Protection (DSP).
If, in the future, our number changes, we will give you plenty of notice on various official communication channels. You will also be able to confirm the number against the details on this website.
