Pet Policy – You Said, We Did
4th Dec, 2025
Residents asked Clúid Housing to relax our pet policy, and we are pleased to announce that after consultation with Resident Advisory Groups, staff, local authorities, and the Housing Agency, the policy has now been updated. This change means residents in eligible units may apply to keep a pet for companionship. Permission must always be requested in advance using the Pet Application Form, available here. Applications will only be approved if certain criteria are met. Please note that this update does not apply to all units, and some properties may still be subject to restrictions.
Pets are allowed if:
- The property permits pets in line with House Rules or OMC regulations.
- The pet is not a restricted breed of dog (see gov.ie Dog Control).
- The animal is kept as a domestic pet for companionship only, and not for breeding or commercial purposes.
- Guide and assistance dogs are always permitted, provided they are certified.
We understand that some residents may be disappointed that these changes do not apply to their property. We are sorry for any impact this may have, but we hope you understand that your feedback and concerns have played an important role in shaping these updated policies.
