Milltown Meadows wins Pride of Place Award
19th Nov, 2021
Residents from Clúid’s Milltown Meadows scheme won the Meath County Pride of Place Award for their Youth Project at the recent awards.
They created a new garden that came to life when a group of Milltown Meadows residents received a donation of €100 worth of growing supplies from Meath Volunteer Group in Summer ’21 and the garden developed from there.
The residents made soap with some of their homegrown herbs and flowers, grown in their very own veggie growing area. The residents won the Youth Project award for this project in the municipal area a number of weeks ago. This project won the group a prize of €700 in total.
Susan Vickers, Energy and Environmental Manager at Clúid Housing, commented “This is a wonderful project. It’s great to see young people getting involved with growing food and learning about gardening, the positive benefits of which are well documented. The award is well deserved and a great recognition of the residents work. Well done to all involved. ”
This was a great achievement for the young people in the Milltown Meadows community. Congratulations to all involved, keep up the great work.
