Supporting Resident-Led Communities Through New Funding Opportunities
23rd Jun, 2026
We are pleased to announce the launch of two new pilot funding initiatives aimed at supporting resident-led projects and strengthening community life across Clúid Housing schemes. These programmes reflect an ongoing commitment to investing in communities, enhancing shared spaces, and supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, wellbeing, and engagement.
The Brighter Horizons Fund will provide grants of up to €10,000 to two selected housing schemes. This fund is designed to support larger-scale, resident-led projects that improve communal environments and strengthen community pride. Eligible initiatives may include enhancements to green spaces, landscaping and planting projects, public art such as murals, improved signage and lighting, outdoor seating and recreational areas, as well as community engagement activities such as workshops, storytelling, and youth-led initiatives. A key focus of the programme is ensuring that residents are actively involved in identifying priorities, shaping project ideas, and participating in delivery and evaluation, helping to build long-term ownership and sustainability.
The Community Support Fund will award grants of up to €1,000 to up to five schemes. This fund supports smaller-scale initiatives that encourage community connection and participation. Projects may include community events, biodiversity and sustainability activities, arts and cultural programmes, estate improvements, and other resident engagement initiatives that contribute to a positive and inclusive living environment.
Both funding streams are designed to support initiatives that are led by residents and informed by local needs. By placing residents at the centre of decision-making, the programmes aim to ensure that projects are meaningful, relevant, and reflective of the communities they serve.
Applications are managed internally and are submitted by Clúid staff through the designated process. Resident Housing Officers will play a key role in identifying opportunities within communities, supporting the development of ideas, and assisting with applications. Their local knowledge and day-to-day engagement with residents are essential in ensuring that the funds reach communities where they can have the greatest impact.
These pilot programmes represent an important step in supporting community-led development and reinforcing the role of residents in shaping the places they call home. We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes these initiatives will deliver across our communities.
If you are a resident and have a suitable project that needs funding, speak with your Resident Housing Officer for further information.
